Apparently Twitter turned eight last week, which only served to remind me how much time I’ve frittered away on Twitter since joining (back in June 2009. Apparently).
Until my seachange Twitter was my fave of social networks though I was a self-confessed binge-tweeter really only using it during my commute to and from work each day.
As part of its birthday celebrations Twitter opened its archives so anyone with a Twitter account could have a reminder of their first tweet. I’m sure like me you’ll hope yours would be something insightful.
Sadly mine were not.
My first (then @rockafellaskank / now @debbishdotcom) tweet was promoting a blog post I’d written about the TV show, Pushing Daisies.
And my first @Schmiet tweet was frightening familiar…
The tweet in question also reflected my first blog post in the blog-formerly-known-as-Diet Schmiet.
They could of course be worse, as I was a tad worried they’d be tweets announcing that they were my first tweets or that I was breaking my Twitter cherry or similar! You know… “I’m here!” kind of thing.
You too can discover your first tweet if you so desire. I just hope it’s more poignant and life-affirming than mine.
Are you brave enough to check out your first tweet?

I signed up for a twitter account then never used it. I don’t even know how to get into it. Can’t remember any of my sign in details. I’m like a mute bird – no twitter.

Oh well… you’re good with your blog FB page though. I’m trying to make more of an effort – though not exactly succeeding.

Haha! Mine was “Please read my blog”. What a sad little tweet to about 3 followers:)

Oh… I wonder if I had any followers back then. Probably not!

Have been away from Twitter this week but just checked out that link, thanks Deb 🙂
My first tweet was a response to doing Kerri Sackville’s Twitter course with a friend and K’s comment about her daughter only talking to girls at school:
“Haha…sensible girl! My debut tweat…gulp.Your Twitter course on Wednesday was illuminating :)”
I misspelt tweet…LOL – cringe!

Oh yes… if only we knew how important moments were going to be… later.
I must start working on my next insightful statement in case some new social media platform is shortly introduced!

LOL! Good on you (from one still struggling with the old platforms :D)
