I realised today that there are exactly three weeks left this year. (Assuming the Mayans are incorrect that is!)
I also realised I’m feeling a bit stale. I have a lot several half-written posts wallowing in my drafts folder and it seems to me like I’m just talking about the same things again and again.
So, I’m doing something I haven’t done since I started this blog way back when.
I’m having a break.
I suspect the force urge to write here will be strong, but I’ll try to stave off the need to share if I can. I’ll try to continue posting in Debbish, as I’m still trying to find my voice there. I like to think I’ll do some other writing as well, but who knows.
I’ll still be around, reading others’ blogs, tweeting and facebooking. In fact, hopefully I’ll be a bit more active on Facebook, though promise not to bombard my ‘likers’ with Fitspiration memes and the like. Â If you don’t already ‘like’ me drop by and do so.
To ensure that you don’t suffer too badly during my blogging absence I’ve (hopefully) activated a Twitter thing which will randomly promote one of my 468 posts from the past 30 or so months. Alternatively the ‘Related Posts’ list at the bottom of the screen seems to defy its programming and provide seemingly random recommendations!
Thanks to all of my readers and commenters. Your support continues to be very much appreciated.
I attended a writers’ group meeting last week and said that – while I say I write for ‘me’ and claim that ‘I just like to write’; if that was all I wanted to do I’d just keep a private diary.
My readers are obviously important to me, as are your thoughts and opinions.
On that note… happy holidays, take care and I’ll see you in the New Year!

December 10, 2012
Yes… I completely understand. My brain is exhausted and I’m tired of thinking ‘deep’ thoughts. x
December 10, 2012
I’ll miss you 🙂

I joked to the husband IM SOOO STOPPING PACKING in case the Mayans are right :0)
December 10, 2012
Yes, you wouldn’t want to spend your last days packing! (What a waste of time!)
December 11, 2012
Happy blogging vacation, Deb!
I wish I could get vacation from my brain: now that would be awesome. End of the world could be exciting too, but it’s no good if it becomes before Christmas Eve (it was 21st or 23rd December… )
December 11, 2012
I think the Mayans believe the end will come on 21 December (though not sure WHOSE time – GMT eg?). And yes, after Christmas and my annual birthday cheesecake would be far preferable! (Would make all of this angst over our bodies kind of redundant wouldn’t it?!)
I suspect my brain will also not stop obsessing about stuff. I might write but save the posts up for the future.

Thanks Marion!!! And… I’d love to be outrageous. Not sure I remember how though!

Get that strappy dress and some strappy heels and strut your stuff. That’s what I suggest. M.
December 15, 2012
Was thinking I could buy it to wear for my bday celebrations (just after Xmas). Not sure I’ll get time to go shopping though… or get time to buy the strapless bra I’d need to wear with it!

Taking a break is a good idea. It will help you think about what you will really want to write here. I bet you’ll find yourself coming up with ideas left and right, and then suddenly you will be super inspired!
Here’s to a great year of health and blogging in 2013.
December 19, 2012
Thanks Julia – same to you. Hoping to return with renewed focus and energy in 2013. The last three months have been big ones for me I guess (finishing work, selling up, buying, moving etc). It’s also giving me a bit of time to work with my Debbish blog. (Plus I’ve now registered my business name and done things in preparation for doing some freelance work next year!)
