This Is Why We Lied by Karin Slaughter is the twelfth in the series featuring Will Trent, but also features his (new) wife Sara Linton – who of course has starred in a couple of Slaughter’s series. Here the pair have just gotten hitched and Will decided to take Sara to a remote glamping spot – one he yearned to visit as a child in a foster care group home nearby. Of course they stumble into some family drama and when there’s a murder on their first night the pair feel duty-bound to seek justice for the victim.

Book review: After That Night by Karin Slaughter

I very much enjoyed After That Night by Karin Slaughter which is the 11th in the Will Trent series. I must have missed one or two I think as I think I knew Will and Sara Linton were together but had forgotten how much I like their relationship and the way they complement each other.

The underlying plot here is shocking though I’ve read similar books. It’s a reminder that sociopaths somehow manage to find one another and also raises the nature vs nurture debate.

Book review: The Silent Wife by Karin Slaughter

The Silent Wife by Karin Slaughter is the tenth in the series featuring Will Trent, and though I’d say I’m a Slaughter devotee I somehow missed the last one or two.

Interestingly, for long term fans… this could almost be badged as a Grant County book as Jeffrey Tolliver, the (former) Chief of Grant County Police and headliner of that series (along with Sara Linton) features prominently. Which could be perplexing if you’ve read all of those books.
