Everyone’s doing wrap-up posts and they’re something I’ve done in the past. I’m not a big New Year’s resolutions kinda gal though often set myself some goals – which naturally I fail to meet. Year after year.
I’d planned an introspective retrospective but am a bit over my navel-gazing self and can’t be arsed thinking long and hard about this past year and the good, bad and ugly.
So… I’m keeping this light and just sharing my favourite things in 2015.
Favourite TV show: Jessica Jones – without a doubt. Click on the pic to check out my review.
Favourite book: The Eye of the Sheep by Sofie Laguna, released in 2014, but read in 2015. Click on the pic to check out my review.
Favourite movie: The Martian (I only saw 2-3 movies but the fact I made the effort to go to this says something!) 😉
Favourite things online: I had to go with two cos I watched these again and again. And no matter how crappy life was / is / can be… these make it better.
Happy New Year!
What were your highlights? Lowlights? Anything in between?

Highlights & lowlights? So many of both, but more of the former than the latter. May 2016 bring all things fabulous…

Thanks Jo.

Really love this post. All the good stuff. Those videos were both great and I didn’t need to even click on them because I’d remembered them from earlier this year – made me smile all over again. Must read that book! I’d seen it when I walked past the bookshop and loved the cover. Glad to know that the interior is as good as the exterior.
Happy 2016 Deb!

Thanks Char and those videos were great, weren’t they?! They cheer me up, no matter what.

Great retro wrap up Deb. I’m definitely with you on The Martian. It was one of the rare movies I made the effort to go and see as well. I went twice this year only. Once for The Martian and once for Star Wars. Have a wonderful 2016 and I will look forward to next year’s reviews and navel gazing xxx

Thanks Michelle. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed The Martian. A lot of US blogger had raved about the book so I’m glad I held off on reading it and saw the movie (which I wouldn’t have done if I’d read the book!)

Love your post Deb, I should make a New Year resolution to be more disciplined with updating challenges lol but maybe not signing up for them is the way to go … #nofail 😛
Jessica Jones is on my list to start in the holiday break!
One of my favourites on your blog this year was the vlog you did for Dinosaur Dump 🙂
Here’s to an awesome year of reading in 2016
December 31, 2015
Ah yes, I loved that Dinosaur Dump vlog. I had a lovely happy birthday song from the same little boy the other day, though he broke into Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer half-way through. (And why not?!)

I still haven’t seen The Martian. Loved that 2nd video too. Hugs xoxo

I assume The Martian will be out on DVD soon… although they may wait until around Oscars (etc) time!

Plenty of highlights and lowlights this year. I try to focus on the former (and not dwell on the latter…). Posted my favourite books today (I had a great reading year). No standout movies spring to mind, with the exception of The Dressmaker – it was fabulous – like you, I don’t get to lots of movies…
I love that clip of the boy finding out he’s going to be a big brother. My second boy LOVES babies (and still does at age 12, and babies love him). When he was little he asked for a new baby every Christmas – he got his wish twice!
These are the Youtube clips that always make me laugh – https://booksaremyfavouriteandbest.wordpress.com/2013/11/09/youtube-clips-that-make-me-scream-with-laughter/

Will check out those YouTube clips Kate… thanks for sharing!

Happy New Year!

It is always a highlight when I spend time with our grandson Cole. I am listening to The Martian and will wait until done to see the movie. Happy New Year.
My Favorites of 2015

Ah yes, my niece is grown up now but I enjoy my time with a friend’s 4yr old – always ‘grounds’ me, if that makes sense.
Hope you enjoy The Martian! And happy new year!!! x
