It’s Monday – what are you reading?

I’m only just starting to get serious about book blogging. I’ve always been serious about reading and fairly serious about blogging (as much as someone with a sarcastic self-deprecating bent can be!) but I’m increasingly combining the two.

2a1It means I’ve been looking for new book review / book blogging sites to follow. I already follow about 100 sites so am trying to cull rather than add more to my Feedly reader! (Suggestions welcome!)

I’ve noticed this fabulous ‘What I’m reading‘ link-up on Monday and decided I’d play along – so I can plan exactly what I’ll read this week.

However, when I went to add my link I discovered it was closed…

I’ve just had an entire week off reading as I struggled with a review for a book I found incredibly poignant. But now I’m back. Baby!

Firstly I’ve read but have a review being published this week about this fabulous Australian novel by Caroline Overington.

Because of my short hiatus and some last minute requests I have a few books I desperately need to finish and review, including this one from Aussie Jaye Ford. I read Jaye’s last book and am a recent fan.

And another I’ve only just requested and received, One Kick by Chelsea Cain.

And finally Tana French’s The Secret Place, which I actually received a while ago but was formatted so poorly I couldn’t read it. This ARC is far better.

I can usually get through 3-4 books a week but I’m only aiming for three this week as I have a birthday celebration, dinner and day surgery on my agenda.

They’re all due to be published on 1-2 September so I’m a little late to the party, but looking forward to it nonetheless.

All cover pics from NetGalley, where I’ve received ARCs compliments of the publishers.

This weeks pinky is still open Deb. Go to http://bookjourney.net/2014/08/17/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-249/ and at the bottom of the post is the link to the linky page where you can add your post details 🙂

I have both Overington and Fords book on my reading list for next week. Enjoy!

      Hi Sheila

When I first tried it said the linkup was closed and I asked peeps on the Aussie book blogging FB page and fortunately they told me it wasn’t so I tried again and SUCCESS!

I'd love to hear your thoughts
