A Game of Thrones Colouring Book

Wednesday, October 28, 2015 Permalink

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or you know… in Westeros or Essos, you’ll know that colouring-in books for adults are now a thing.

Most people choose to colour zen-like mandalas which are perhaps designed to send you into some blissful trance—thus reducing your need for wine. Or LSD.

Anyhoo, always thinking of my readers and ready to jump on any bandwagon which comes my way I’m happy to announce that Harper Collins has released an official A Game of Thrones Colouring Book.

Yes it’s true. All of your GoT characters brought to life via your own hand. And pencils or crayons. Or similar.

“With dozens of stunning original black-and-white illustrations from world-renowned illustrators Yvonne Gilbert, John Howe, Tomislav Tomic, Adam Stower, and Levi Pinfold, this unique collector’s item expands the reach of an international phenomenon with flying colours.”

I watched S1 of GoT via DVD years ago and didn’t love it. It was a bit too gory and I was unhappy one of the lead characters was unceremoniously killed-off. (Something that hasn’t changed I gather!)

So… I’ve never bothered going back for seconds.

I do realise however, that not everyone shares my (ahem) refined palate and know gazillions of people are addicted to the books and show. So, if you’re a GoT-lover and a keen colourer-inner* you NEED this book.

And the nice peeps from Harper Collins have given me a copy to give away. You really don’t need to do anything other than leave a comment below and the prize will be drawn randomly.

NOTE: Only entries from Australia are eligible (to keep my postage costs down!) and the competition closes cob 5pm Wednesday 4 November 2015.

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ENTRIES!

Go ahead… try to convince me I should give A Game of Thrones a second chance!

I’m linking up with Trish from My Little Drummer Boys for Wordless Wednesday.

If you’re not fortunate enough to win my copy, you can buy the book at the usual places for AUD19.99 (RRP).

* Most definitely a real word.

The Game of Thrones coloring book made me laugh when I first saw it. I’d just color all the pictures blood red.

Ah yes, that sounds like my sort of approach.

The coloring book looks great, but I have never watched the show myself. I am like you..I don’t like shows that kill off main characters on a regular basis. Probably never going to read the books either…lol.

They’re definitely not the sort of books I’d read, but my TV tastes differ from my reading tastes so I watch a lot of sci fi etc but I just couldn’t get into this I’m afraid.

I’ve watched all of the GoT episodes now and have stopped saying ‘they won’t kill him off, he’s a main character’. Except for Jon Snow. I still hold out hope that somehow he may have survived all that blood loss at the end of the last episode.

Ah yes, I saw the Jon Snow furore on social media and keep seeing people commenting on the actor’s movements in terms of whether his character really has been killed off!

I just don’t get what the hype is with this show plus we don’t have pay tv so I have never actually seen even a snippet!!
Love the adult colouring book idea I have a friend who is obsessed with this show and she would love it!!

I’ve never seen Game of Thornes, but at least it’s unique to kill off lead characters. Better than faux peril becuase you know the actor is around next season.
I feel like I need a caveat here that it took me FOREVER to know why people were spelling “got” as GoT.

I use the GoT thing Vanessa but note it’s officially AGoT!

I love colouring in and addicted to GoT. Every new season I say I can’t watch it again and yet I’m hooked. I like the fact that the series doesn’t follow an expected pattern I guess and you never know what will happen next!

Very true. As Vanessa said, at least you can’t assume that certain characters will never die. It’s full of surprises!

I watched the first episode years back but it wasn’t my cup of tea. I love how you can colour in pretty much anything now – I’m still amazed by finding colouring books devoted to Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch a few weeks back!

Yes, there are Harry Potter books and I’m pretty sure I saw a Vogue colouring book somewhere recently!

This is great for guys – I have a few male friends who are in on the colouring craze. Can you imagine their thrill when they see a Game of Thrones project book?!

I haven’t watched GoT either or read the books. I was tempted to buy a Zen ‘ish colouring book the day but balked at $12.

It is amazing how the colouring thing has blown up! Never gotten into GoT at all too crazy and unrealistic for my cynical mind. Great give away (you can exclude me from the comp though as I feel that a true GoT fan should win!). Will share this on FB.

I'd love to hear your thoughts
